The rising tides.

The rising tides

In 1777 Laplas made a report in the Paris academy about the rising tides and the falling tides. Their first model was considered by Newton and Kepler so that the rising tides and the falling tides were caused by the Moon and the Sun. This theory was developed by I. Bernully, Ailer and d'Alamber. Their scheme about the rising tides following on two directions (one to the Moon and the other to the Sun) was suited the non deep ocean in the stable planet.

Laplas generated a dynamic theory of the rising falls along the Earth's surface. This theory was much more exact.
