Pegas (The Flying horse) lays to the south-west from Andromeda and together with a of Andromeda forms the Great Square.

The name of this constellation is connected with the legend about the hero Bellerophont getting from the Gods a winged horse Pegas. He flied on it and killed the winged monster Himera.
