Ozone (from the Greek ozone - smelt) is an allotropic modification of oxygen, O3. It is the gas of blue colour with a sharp odour. With great concentrations is disintegrated with the bursts. It’s generated from O2 after an electric discharge (during thunderstorms, for example) and under the ultraviolet erudition. The main mass of ozone is in ozonosphere (10 - 50 km) with the maximum concentration at the 20 - 25 km of height. It is used for disinfection of the water and the air.
