The Moon self-propelled apparatus (lunokhod) autometic or controlled device for operation and moving along the Moon's surface. In 1970 the Soviet self-propelled apparatus controlled from the Earth - "Lunokhod-1" was brought in the Moon. It helped to determine the distance from the Earth to the Moon by means of a laser corner reflector. In 1970 - 1975 there were 2 soviet lunar self-propelled apparatus launched to the moon. The maximume mass was 840 kg, the maximum gone distance was 37 km, the operation time was near 1 year. The first controlled lunar apparatus was the american lunar vehicle "Rover" (1971). In 1971 - 1972 the spaceships "Apollo-15, -16, -17" brought in to the Moon three lunar vehicles "Rover" for the astronauts moving. The maximum mass (with two astronauts and a freight) - 725 kg. Themaximum passed distance was about 36 km.
