Andromeda

It is easy to find this constellation. It lays to the east from Big square of Pegasus, which in the autumn evening is in the southern part of the sky. Andromeda consists of three chains of the stars, coming out from the northern angle of the Square to the North-East. According to the Greek myth Andromeda is a daughter of Ethiopian tzar Cefeus given to the sea monster, but Perseus saved her.

The remarkable objects in this constellation are: the galaxy M 31 (Andromeda nebula) and both her satellites M 32 and NGC 205. Diameter is about 120 thousand of the light years. It resembles our Galaxy. The distance from it to our Galaxy is more than 2 mln light years.
